Chops: There's More Than Steak to Eat at DC STEAKHOUSE
We never get tired of steak around here, but steaks aren’t the only mains we serve. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, and you still want a hearty meat dish, may we suggest a lamb or pork chop?
What Is a “Chop”?
By definition, “chops” come from the loin, rib, or shoulder of a sheep or pig. They include a cut section of the backbone and a rib bone (the bones can be cut away for a boneless chop).
The reason we choose to serve lamb and pork chops is because these cuts have the best flavor, texture, and consistency. Chops may be leaner and milder compared to beef, but they are still a juicy and delicious cut of meat.
Lamb Chops vs. Pork Chops
Lamb Chops
Perfect for a special occasion or lavish meal, our lamb chops are tender, juicy, and mild in flavor. If you have ever had a lamb chop that was not tender, juicy, and mild, it was probably mutton. Our premium chops are always fresh and always expertly prepared.
We recommend ordering your lamb chop with the grilled asparagus and some creamy mashed potatoes on the side. And a lighter red, like a Pinot Noir (or even a rosé) would pair nicely.
Pork Chops
Firm, but tender. Meaty, yet light. Mild, but savory. If you’re craving meat but don’t want steak, our boneless chop is juicy, flavorful, and always cooked to perfection.
Our favorite sides for the pork chop are the sweet potato fries and the sautéed mushrooms. For wine pairings, we would recommend either a chardonnay or a cabernet sauvignon, depending on your preference for red or white.
