4 Best Museums to Visit in Chandler, Arizona

Whether you are a visitor to our area or a native looking for something new and fun to do, these four museums will get you excited for a day out on the town. Visiting a museum is a wonderful way to get to know the town of Chandler and to see something cool. And after you work up an appetite, we know a great place for dinner.

Four Must-See Museums in Chandler

1: The Vision Gallery

Managed by the Chandler Cultural Foundation, this not-for-profit organization is dedicated to bringing art to the community at large. They are the driving force behind many of the sculptures and architectural works of art scattered around Chandler. Bringing art to the community is their passion, which is why they offer free admission no matter the day. With a rotating collection of art that includes many different mediums, there is always something beautiful and significant to see at the Vision Gallery

2: The Chandler Museum

If you are looking for exhibitions that are culturally significant, community-focused, and engaging as well, then a visit to the Chandler Museum is perfect for you. This museum offers free admission to all of their beautifully curated exhibits. Along with their community focus, this museum is also a stop for many world-traveling collections. The Chandler Museums also hosts a variety of speakers and events, so be sure to check their calendar.

3: Arizona Railway Museum

Ever wonder what it might have been like to travel by train? At the Arizona Railway Museum you can explore twelve different historic passenger cars and learn about the technology behind these massive transportation vehicles. The train cars and buildings onsite are maintained by volunteers, so admission fees go toward keeping these pieces of history functional. That's right—these antique trains can still chug along a track.

4: Tumbleweed Ranch

Operated by the Chandler Museum, Tumbleweed Ranch is a slice of history and a way to step back into the past. This ranch sits on 14 acres of preserved farmland, and enables visitors to walk around and discover how early farmers in Arizona lived and worked. There are four historic buildings on the site. The McCroskey House and Edwards House were two of the first homes built in Chandler. The Red Shed Theater and an early 1900s grocery store both help to show you a slice of historic life. Along with the historic buildings, there is also antique agricultural equipment to see.
