Downtown Chandler Steak
House sits at the center of Chandler’s historic downtown square – a quaint
collection of independently owned boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants,
including a microbrewery and an Arizona winery. Recently designated a National Register
Historic District, the square and its
entrepreneurial tenants pay tribute to the city’s founder, Dr. A.J. Chandler,
who envisioned the area as a lively mix of businesses and entertainment when he
settled it in 1912.
Today, the square also
hosts several seasonal festivals, concerts and events, including a popular jazz
festival in November, an art walk on the third Friday of each month, and a
farmer’s market held every Thursday (October-May).
Within walking distance of
Downtown Chandler Steak House is the square’s most prominent resident – the
renowned San Marcos Resort. Considered Arizona’s first true resort, the hotel symbolizes
Chandler’s commitment to preserving its history and attracts guests worldwide
for its historic beauty, plush amenities and 18-hole championship golf course.
